Ceramic Handprint Business & Training Testimonial

It fills me up to be able to help others run a successful home business, especially one that is profitable.

Meet Jen....

Several years ago Jen reached out to me from the Philippines and was curious about starting her own ceramic handprint business. Of course I said yes and we got right to work.

Jen is a huge breast feeding advocate and she has found a perfect way to combine her passions. Here are a few words Jen had to say about training with me.

"More than the excellent training package (including the DVD, manual, starter kit, video blogs etc), it is the trust and the helpful voice of Amy that is the winner with this whole training. I live outside USA so I don't have access to stores or shops that otherwise is easy to find for US residents. But Amy was very patient and helpful in giving me all the information I needed. She went well out of her way to help a trainee she did not even know for long. And I think this is what sets her training apart from other ceramic impressions training out there, her dedication to help and make you succeed. This is the perfect business for a single mom like me, who wants to give more time to her son but still bring income to the family. -Jen, MNL"

I am waiting for YOU! Let's get busy getting you ready for your own business.

Facebook LIVE ~ A Way to Promote YOUR Ceramic Handprint Business

Well, I am doing it! I am starting to experiment with Facebook LIVE! It is exciting and scary and the same time.

Have you heard of it? You can actually record in real time and have your followers/customers watch you and interact with you LIVE. If they miss the live broadcast they can always catch the replay.

Part of your training with me is to keep you up to date on the best ways to interact with your people. The best way to gather more customers is to create a relationship with them. If they "see" you and "hear" you and have a way to "interact" with you, you will be building trust. You show that you are a real person and not some weirdo on the interwebs. ;)

Here is my first LIVE broadcast on FB. Now listen, if I can do this, you can do this. I was nervous! But I made it through....

I feel it is important for you to get to know me. If you are interested in starting your own Ceramic Handprint Business and you are getting ready to invest in my training program, it is only natural that you would like to know who I am. I totally get that!

Words from one of my CHT Trainees ~ I love my job!

Being a business coach, I get to help so many amazing people start up their own Ceramic Handprint Impressions business and I love it! I love everything about it. I get to be part of the evolution of someone's dream. It is fun to see all the Qs that come up at the beginning and then to see the confidence build as you step into the role of business owner.  I get to see my trainnee soar as they start the process of learning the ins and outs of this business.

I am thankful for this process. It fill me up!

I have just recently wrapped up my training with Kristin and this is what she had to say about my training and working with me.

"I feel so incredibly lucky to have found Amy's training! After months of trying to figure out how to start a handprint business on my own, I stumbled across Amy's training and I couldn't have been happier! I never could have started a successful business without her help. The DVD's are so easy to follow and I refer back to them constantly. Amy is so incredibly helpful and has been there for me every step of the way. She has always responded quickly and with wonderful and very helpful advice. I knew I could count on her every step of the way in this process and I am so thankful to have had such a supportive teacher. I am so glad that I purchased this program, as I know I wouldn't have been able to start this type of business without training. I am so happy to be able to stay home with my kids and run a business that I love on my own schedule. I will be forever grateful to Amy and her training! Kristin ~ Tyler, TX LoveInClay.com

Even though I "officially wrap up training" I am always available for questions down the road. I have had some of the people I have trained email me years into their handprint career and ask a few follow up questions. I always love that too. Lets me know they are still working their business and that things are going well.

I just wanted to share this testimonial with you because I know it can be scary when you are trying to make the decision to start. There are many things you have to weigh out to see if this business is right for you.

BUT with that said, often times it is just the need to walk through your fear and JUST START. Taking the first step is the hardest part. Once you begin, everything will fall into place, as if it was just waiting for you to say.....let's go!

If you pick me to help you along the way, I will be very honored.

Much love,

Amy, your coach in waiting! xoxo

Is Working for Yourself a Good Idea?

Many people dream of being their own boss, starting a company and have it flourish. There is a freedom that comes with running your own business. With that said, it does not mean it is all rainbows and butterflies. There is actual work involved. Crazy, I know.

So the question you have to answer for yourself is...

Will you be a good boss for....YOU?

Often times, when you work for someone else, you check in, do the work asked of you and then you leave at the end of your day and call it good (for the most part.)

There have been many days, as I have been working for myself, for the past 16 years or so when I have had a crazy busy day, when I think about working a job that I just click in and out of. Sometimes working for yourself can be a bit stressful. You are doing all the parts of a business that big companies hire many different people to do. You wear many different hats when you run your own business.

There is much to learn as an entrepreneur. Once you decide that you are going to work for you, you need to implement some strategies that will set you up for success. Those strategies are a bit different for everyone and you will have to figure out what works best for you. But that is the fun part. YOU get to figure it out.

It is not always a smooth road, not going to lie about it. There is a steep learning curve when you start building a business. It is not as easy as hanging an "OPEN" sign on your front door. There is work involved. Lots of it.

Now, I am not trying to scare anyone away from starting your own business. I am selling a business training program for crying out loud. But I am saying it is not for everyone. Is it for you?

But when you make the decision to jump in, be prepared to learn and to learn a lot!

I say all this to get to this point....

The reward of you putting the work into your very own business is worth any uncomfortable personal growth that comes with being your own boss.

Be prepared to learn and grow a lot.

I consider myself an introvert. I am quiet and shy by nature but being my own boss meant I had to put on my big girl pants and get busy. I have really learned more than I ever thought I would about being a business owner and entrepreneur.

BUT that is one of the best parts of being your own boss! You will learn and grow in ways you never thought you would. It is exciting.

  • You get to create the kind of business you want.
  • You get to decide how to interact and be with your customers.
  • You get to decide when to work. you get to decide how much to charge.
  • You get to decide the style and aesthetics you want your business to portray.
  • You get to decide the quality of work you want out in the world.
  • YOU get to make all the decisions, and that my friend, is a beautiful thing.

Are you ready for an adventure? Are you ready to bet on yourself?

The good news is I am here to help you get going. I am here to answer your questions and make the initial steps of starting your own Ceramic Handprint Business successful.

When you are ready, I am ready to help you.

Take the leap....

Much love,

Amy

The Most Precious

One of the biggest lessons I have learned in this business of creating ceramic handprint impressions is the trust my customers have in me, with their most preciousness, their babies.

Over the years, I have had all sorts of parents come into my home. I have had the scheduled parent, the nervous parent, the blissful parent, the exhausted parent, the on cloud nine parent, the stressed out parent, the weepy parent, the casual parent, the flustered parent, the giddy parent, and on and on and on.

I love them all.

We are all in the parenting experience together, even tho at times we feel very very alone. I know I did, as a mom of two small boys and now as they are teenagers, I still feel that way from time to time. But the feelings of new parents and parents in the thick of parenting several small children is mostly the same. We are all doing our best.

You get to interact with these parents, for a small moment in time, as you invite them into your home, to create a priceless keepsake for them. Treat each interaction as special and meaningful. This is so very important. Your customers will know the difference. And this will make the difference between a so so business and a successful business.

But, as all these different types of parents walk into my home with their little ones, they trust me to treat their children kindly and with respect. I take great pride in that exchange.

I honor the roll of parent, no matter what type of parent you are. I get it. I understand. I have been there.

The time the intersection of me meeting my customer happens, I am thankful that our paths have crossed. Sometimes the interaction with my customers is just that, a one time interaction in which I create a product for them and they go on their way. Other times, emotional, heartfelt conversations happen. I am always thankful for both.

I have had customers confide in me all sorts of things. I am always so honored that someone would trust me with such moments.

It is this reason that this business is so special and so much more than just creating handprints.

This business is for the kind, the compassionate and the trusting.

Your life will be blessed because you are the type of person who can step up the challenge of being trusted. You will be thankful you are trusted. I know, because I am.

Look at each impression and interaction you create as something to be cherished. When you do this, you will know you have the perfect business.

~Amy

I Think I Can --> I Know I Can --> I Did

Are you a dreamer and a planner but not a great followthrougher? (I just made up that word, all one word, it is better that way) Ha!

Years ago, when I was in college, my favorite part of each semester was organizing my schedule. I would pull out my Franklin Covey planner and go to town! I loved that thing. Yes, this was the late '80s, early '90s! The class option catalog, was just that....an actual catalog. No online registering. I would spend hours going over the course options. I would mix and match and pencil in and erase. And then finally pen in my masterpiece of a schedule.

I loved that part. It was planning for the dream. Plotting and organizing, ohmygosh, I love that to this day.

But, the nitty gritty of actually reaching your goals comes in the actionable steps that get you to your goal. I now had to show up to class, read my chapters, write my papers, listen to endless hours of instructing, go to the math lab (yuck) and study study study. Not the fun part BUT, a very very important part to attaining my goal of graduating from college. I actually did accomplish that huge task. It took me 5 years, because I kept changing my major and I even flunked a few classes!!! But, I did it. I made it to the end and I have my degree. Yay!

I believe that the "dreaming" part of a goal is fun and exciting. There are few fears in that part of your dream. It is safe and it is fun because it is full of all things possible.

But as we know from life, sometimes there are things we do no plan on that hinder our goals and dreams. But it is the journey of walking toward your goal where all the actual beauty lies.

Whatever you are dreaming about, you have to put action behind your dreams. Or you just stay safe in that little bubble of dreamland. In your dreamland you say to yourself, "I think I can." That is a GREAT place to start! If you think you can, you will. Now just start moving. Get going. Make it happen.

Why do I tell you this? Because, I know all to well what is like to dream and plan for something you want to accomplish but you may be scared to take that first step. In my experience that is the most scary step, starting. If you are considering starting your own home business, but you are not sure what steps to take first, send me a message. I will be happy to help you get on the path to being a business owner. I believe in you.

Let me help you. I love helping to empower others through building your own business. This is a beautiful way to make money for your family.

Send me a message, I am waiting to hear from you.

Much love,

Amy

Taking Care of You ~ Self Care

The other day my sweet friend posted a picture on facebook of an empty cup of coffee with the words...

"You can't pour from an empty cup. Take care of yourself first."

It was just what I needed to see. I myself struggle with this. Do you? You rush around taking care of everyone and everything else and you are exhausted. And then when you think there will be time for you, there isn't. I know if I don't exercise first think in the morning, it will not happen.

I often jump out of bed in the morning and think of the millions of things I need/want to get done in a day and I just start working.

The mornings that I pause and meditate before I start rushing around and then fit in some form of working out, my day is SO much better.

I go through periods in my life when I am really great about putting myself first and I KNOW life falls into place much more smoothly when I do. But then I just slip away from what I know is best for me ie. regular exercise, drinking lots of water, getting a good amount of sleep, meditation.... and all of a sudden I am letting go of my self care practice.

Why am I sharing this with you? Because I dare bet we are a lot a like. We have similar struggles, dreams, desires. I need reminding that if I put myself first, everything else in life will be better and so I figured that you might need that reminder too.

I surround myself with house plants. I love them. They add life and energy to the rooms in my home and they keep me company while working at home.

***sidenote, did you know that if you talk kindly to your plants they will grow bigger and stronger? Try it. It works. ;)

I always make sure to water my plants regularly (of course I make sure to take care of them, lol) and my plants perk up each and every time I come around with their weekly nourishment. I think we are a lot like the plants around us. We need to be nourished too. We need to be watered and spoken nicely to as well. That includes the way we speak to ourselves! Remember that. The thoughts we think effect our life. Make sure you are speaking kindly to YOU. Super important.

There you go ( and me too!), our reminder to put ourselves first. Take care of yourself so you are better able to take care of others and/or take care of the things that are important in your life.

I have a saying in regards to the practice of taking care of me, "don't think, just do." It is so easy to talk ourselves out of taking care of #1. So the next time you are laying in bed in the morning and thinking, I can just workout later or I need to just get something taken care of really quick (before you take care of you), say to yourself "Don't think, just do." Put those running shoes on or yoga pants (but really go to yoga) and like Nike says, "Just Do It."

I am rooting for you. We got this.

And of course, if you are thinking of starting your hand & footprint business, drop me a line. I am here to help you. That is what I do!

Sending love and motivation your way today!

~Amy xoxo

September & The Home Based Business

What stage of life are you in?

  • Just had your first baby?
  • Have several kids in school?
  • Have teenagers?
  • Children leaving for college? Empty nest?

Wow! As I type these different stages of life, I realize I am almost an empty nester. Not quite yet, and I do not want to rush the next couple of years away but I did just send my first off to college and my still at home son is 16. Time goes by fast and I am adjusting, once again to a different stage of life.

Whatever stage of life you are in September is a time of reflection. Change is in the air.

The old adage is so true.....

How do you keep up with change? How do you adjust? Keep going. That is really all we can do. Keep going.

At 45 years old, I have been through many different stages of life. Most of them wonderful. ;) But I keep going.

It was this time of year 15 years ago that I that I took a leap of faith and started my own ceramic hand and footprint business. I am so thankful that I did.

Fall is a time of great reflection for me. It is my January, as far as the time of year I like to set goals. As time naturally starts to slow down during the month of September, or should I say gets back on a schedule, I like to look back over the past 8months or so and see if I am on track with how I wanted my year to go.

How about you? Do you do that too? Time to start carving out something just for you.

September is a time for me to reorganize and prepare for the rest of the year. I love it. It is my favorite time of year.

I know for me business starts to pick up as many of you are contemplating starting your own business. Put me to work for you. This is a great time to start because you can be up and running for the holiday season. Many people love to have ceramic handprints and footprints made for holiday gifts. That means for you it is a perfect time to spend the next month or two practicing and then be up and running in time to deliver holiday gifts.

I bet you are like me and sometimes you wonder how to keep all the changes in your life moving along. Well, my best advice, like I mentioned above, is to just keep going. Welcome change, embrace it. It is really all we can do. Starting your own business will bring lots of change your way. It will challenge you and help you do things you never thought you could. You will be learning new things and you will be working those brain muscles as you learn and grow. It is exciting.

Look at these sweet baby prints. I bet you have imagined making these. You can and you can do it beautifully. I am here to guide you along the way.

Sending you love and a virtual cup o' joe. Such the perfect time of year for all things cozy.

You are loved.

I Once Was A Teacher

Years ago, before my children were born. I went to college and majored in Secondary Education. I found a job and stared my teaching career in 1993. I loved it! I taught Health Education, Physiology & Anatomy, and Gifted & Talented. I loved it so much! I loved teaching and being back in high school, with all those amazing students.

When I would talk to people and tell them what I did for a living, I would always be greeted with twisted faces and comments like, "I couldn't do that! High School kids are scary" or "Is it awful dealing with those crazy high school kids?" Something along those lines anyway. My answer was always I LOVE IT! Teenagers are great and I loved being around them. Yes, there were a few difficult situations I had to deal with, but I believe teenagers are good human beings, just trying to figure life out (like the rest of us). They, like you and me, need love and support. That is how I approached my teaching career. I looked at my students as individuals making their way through life and my attitude and love for them grew.

In 1997 I had a decision to make. My first son was born and I had to decide if I would be going back to school the next year or not. I had a great principal and he actually let me have a a whole year to decide. How great is that?! I took the next year and poured myself into being a mom. It was wonderful. I also made the decision to stay at home with my baby. I did not return to work the following year. I was officially a stay at home mom.

[Side Note] I just dropped my first born, Ryan off to college this past Sunday. He has officially left the nest! A complete blog post for another day. I am just so proud of him I had to share a huge life moment with y'all. :)

In 1999 my second son was born and I spent the next year and a half in full mom mode. Basically just trying to figure out how to raise these fun and energetic boys. It was overwhelming and amazing all at the same time.

In 2000, I started to get restless. I even started to get a little depressed. (I have spoken about that in another blog.) I decided I needed something for me, just me. I loved working and interacting with people and I could tell I needed to put that back into my life. I also loved being a mom and it was important to me to stay home with my two little ones.

So in the fall of 2000 I began my journey into the ceramic handprint business. My boys were 3 & 15 months, just little guys. It has been an amazing journey. Still is.

All these years later, I am still a teacher. I guess it is in my bones. I created this training program using my love for what I do and also using my teaching skills.

If you, like me, are feeling the need to add human interaction into your day to day mom life, then I am here to help you. It is a big decision, but I know when you are ready, you will let me know.

Start creating the life you want. If you want more to your life....make it happen.

I am a click away. I don't bite.

Sending love and light your way!

~Amy xoxo

Can I Just Take A Ceramics Class?

Many, many people ask me this question all the time. Can I just take a ceramics class and figure this ceramic hand and foot business out?

My answer is, sure?

You can take a ceramics class and learn a lot of great things about ceramics. But remember, you are starting a business and there are a few more things to think about than just how to make a ceramic handprint.

I actually highly recommend you take several ceramics classes, over time. I have. They are fun and informative. There is so much to learn about ceramics in all its shapes and forms. Pun totally intended!

But, if you want to make some money, quickly, and you do not want to spend up to 6 months to a year to "figure it out," then I am here to help you.

In this video I talk about the benefits of my training. Maybe somethings you have not thought of before.

I am a big proponent of education. All types of education! Even my training and the education you will benefits you will receive from it. I continue to read and study about ceramics, business, and self improvement everyday. There is not a day that goes by that I am not trying to learn something new or figure out how to better myself and my business.

When you are ready, I am ready for you! Email me with any questions you may have. [email protected]

Sending love to you this day!

Your Ceramic Handprint Business ~ The Memories Will Be Priceless

Running your own business often involves your own blood, sweet and tears! It is just the reality of starting something from scratch.

But oh the stories you will have! I recommend keeping some kind of journal or diary. The memories you will make from your very heart centered business and priceless.

CHTtabletop.jpg

I remember when I started my business back in 2000, I would get so nervous right before customers came over. I always wanted to have everything go smoothly. Well, one thing I learned very quickly with this business was that I do not have control over everything.

When you are dealing with new babies, new moms, and children of all ages, you will learn that your customers will lead the way, for the most part. You provide your best self and you will show up prepared, but you have to be prepared for anything.

This is what makes it so fun to have your own handprint business. Two days are never the same.

In this interview, I talk about an experience I had with a 3 1/2 year old feisty little girl. It is one experience I will never forget. Just remember as you watch this, I had full permission from the mom to "just go for it." With that said....watch the video for the rest of the story. I had literally worked up a sweat with this little darling girl! :)

As you build your business, you will get to know how most kids react to the clay and with you, being a stranger,  pressing their hand in the clay. Most kids are curious and many (older) kids can't wait to get their hand in the clay. I recommend following the parent's lead and being in tune to what they mom and dad are comfortable with. They know their children the best.

Keep track of your stories and weave them through your business and your social media. If  nothing else, they will be beautiful memories for you to keep through the years.

Happy Impression Making!

Much love,

Amy

I thought it was about the MONEY.....

I have been asked, why I do what I do and my answer has evolved over time. When I started my little ceramic hand and foot impressions business, to be completely honest, I started because I could see the potential with the money I could make. Clay is pretty inexpensive, overhead low because I would be working from home and I knew I could figure it out.

I saw that I could easily make about $500 a week, working part time. I was good with that! (Although I ended up making more than that. :)) But I am not going to lie that the money I could make was a big part of my decision to start this business.

Once I started to grow my business I realized it was SO MUCH MORE than the money I could make.

As with everything in life it is always about more than the money. Thankfully for me I realized that sooner than later and I was able to see that what I was building and nurturing had meaning and was important. Once I shifted the focus of "why" I was doing what I was doing, my business started to grow pretty fast.

In this interview series I talk about the most favorite parts of my handprint business.

Finding your "why" as you build your business will make your work, not seem like work. There is something pretty special about creating a business that is created by love.

As Confusius says, "Choose a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life."

I hope you see that as you start your business. You are providing a service and a service combined with love...is the best kind of service around.

I wish you oodles and oodles of abundance in your handprint business and if you pick me to be your mentor I will be so honored to watch your business grow!

Much love to you!!

Ceramic Handprint Training ~ Just the DVD/Manual

Can you believe it is April already?! Each year gets faster than the last. I have a son graduating from high school this May! I really don't know how the past 18 years have gone by so fast. Crazy pants!

This week I wanted to answer a question that many of you email me about. That question is...

"Can I Buy Just The DVD?"

I can understand that question. There are many costs that need to be budgeted for when starting a business. But I want to tell you that the DVD/Manual (they are a set) is where all the value is. I have packed my training full of over 10,000 hours of experience. When you purchase my training you are buying my expertise. I make sure you get a great value for the money.

So...I am going to rephrase how my training package is priced. The DVD/Manual/Vlogs is sold for $599 and the rest of the "stuff" is free, with purchase! Tile samples, handprint samples, starter tools, the 10 professional product photos, and email coaching......all FREE!

I really want you to be successful in your business and that is why email coaching is a very important part of my training. You will have questions. Things come up when getting started that you cannot plan for. You may make a few mistakes with your impressions or you may not know how to handle a certain customer and this is when you will be very happy to have access to me. Sometimes you get up and going and just need someone to trouble shoot with.

I want to challenge you with something and that is to think bigger! You are starting a business and you are investing in the abundance of your business. You will charge your customers for your skills and experience and you want your customers to feel good and happy paying you for your product. Well, I have a product, my training, and I want you to feel good about the skills and training you receive from me. See how it all works? If you take this step with me, I will make sure you are armed with the information you need to be successful.

When you are ready, let me know! I am here and I am happy to help you get going!

Here is to a great spring full of new beginnings!

Happy Impression Making!!!

Much love,

Amy

Ceramic Handprint Training covering the world!

You know the scene in You've Got Mail where Meg Ryan's character exclaims, "I'm A Chain" ? Well that is how I feel each time one of my Ceramic Handprint Training Kits goes out into the world. I get so excited that someone has taken the plunge and is starting their own journey of building a loving business.

You are your own boss when you purchase my training and not actual a chain, but I feel a whole lotta happiness giving you the tools, to quickly, create your own successful business!

I opened my big book of trainees (you get to be in this book if you are one of my trainees) and I stared thinking and reflecting on all the people who I have gotten to meet, train, and talk with in relationship to building a ceramic handprint business. I feel so blessed to have crossed paths with you. It is fun to  know that you are experiencing the love and joy I do when I create impressions.

Want in my book?! Lemme know and I will be happy to get you started. :)

Part of looking through my book was seeing all the places that CHT has been sent out to, all across the country and even internationally to Canada, The UK, India, and The Philippines! How exciting is that?! Ohmygoodness! My heart is full.

I made a quick sketch of places that my training program has flown to. Many of these states I have even sent several kits to. There are so many babies born in our Country and around the world each day that you don't really have competition. Just be you and build your business with the abundance theory in place and you will be successful.

The abundance theory is the belief that there is so much abundance in this big world of ours that there is enough for everyone to be successful and abundant doing what they love.

If I had let competition stop me once I got my business going (or even before I got started) I would have accomplished a whole lot of nothing. No one can do your business the way you can do your business. You bring all the special things that make you who you are, that is a gift to share with the world.

I am excited to see where the next Ceramic Handprint Training kit will go next. Is it to you? Are you ready to take the plunge? I am ready when you are ready.

Sending you love and abundance this day!

Working From Home ~ Ceramic Hand & Footprint Business

Over the next few weeks I am going to be answering my most asked questions. Last week I addressed the question of start up costs in relation to this business. Just refer to my previous post to see the breakdown about your total financial investment into the business.

This week I want to share a video with you addressing working this business around the family. I started this Hand and Foot Impressions business because I wanted to stay home with my children, but I also wanted to make some money and keep my brain stimulated. ;)

Watch this video and it should answer most of your questions about how moldable this business really is.

I have been working from home for the past 15 years. I am so thankful that this business has allowed me to do that. Like I mention in the video, my kids are grown now and my flexibility with scheduling, anything, is a lot easier than it used to be, but I remember the days of juggling little ones. I was always thankful that I could snuggle a little longer in the mornings with my kiddos or take them to the doctor, if needed, without having to call into work and try and explain why I needed more time off of work.

Working from home has been one of the biggest blessings of my life. It would be hard to go back into the work force after so many years of being my own boss.

Today, I permanently reduced the pricing of my training program. I want to get this program into as many hands as possible. I know start up costs are always in issue and now dollar for dollar this program the best you will find. I have soooo much information in this training that you will be ready to go sooner than you think.

As always, let me know if you have any questions. I am really easy to talk to and would love to help you.

Much love,

Amy

Starting Your Own Ceramic Handprint Business ~ What You Need.

I bet you are wondering what the start up costs are for starting your own Ceramic Handprint Business. This is by far the question I get asked the most.

Well, I have got the answer.

Let me preface my words with this thought. You are wanting to start a business and you know that with any business you will need to invest some time and money into it.

If you are approaching this business as a hobby, it will only be a hobby. If you approach it as a business and you lay the proper ground work, it will serve you well as a profitable business.

The people I train understand the principle of ROI, return on investment.

As with ANY business there are costs associated with running a business. This business is no different. You do need to do a little investing to get your business going. The good news is that the costs are pretty minimal.

If you are working at home, which is why this business is so appealing, your overhead is low. Purchasing your supplies is pretty inexpensive.

The largest financial investment in your business will be purchasing a kiln. I do recommend you purchase a kiln. It makes working at home easier. But, you do have options. Let me explain.

  • You can purchase a new kiln. The kiln I use sells for about $2500. It is a big upfront cost, but again, the return on investing in a kiln to be able to use in your own home, at your own convenience, is priceless.
  • You can purchase a used kiln. Used kilns range from $300-$1000.
  • You can take your impression plates to a local ceramic store and they will fire them for you. They will charge you a per item fee or a whole kiln load fee. I use a service like this if I am out of town doing impressions and I want to have my pieces fired while I am away from my home.

Lets say this business costs you $1000-$3500 (depending on the kiln you purchase) to get started (including training and the purchase of a new kiln). You have just invested in the successful nature of starting a business. You have just invested in you and your very own business.

I am a believer in taking this seriously. When you invest in you and your business, you are setting a clear message that you are ready to go and you are going to approach this as a business, NOT a hobby.

If you are approaching ceramic hand and footprint impressions as a hobby, my training is not for you.

When you look at the numbers and see that you can make $2000 a month, part time and up to $5000+ a month full time, you will see that your initial investment will be made up really quickly.

In this case, investing a little bit up front will pay off in big dividends down the road.

Sending abundant business blessings your way!

2015 ~ Are You Ready?

Happy 2015! It is that time of year again when we set goals and gear up for another year. My 2014 was much like a whirl wind for me. Was it for you too?

As you know, I have created a Ceramic Handprint Training program. It is designed to help set you up with a business you love. If you are still thinking about starting your business, let this be the year.

January is a the perfect time to focus on creating something new. Let me help you! I am pretty easy to talk to and I love what I do. If you ever have questions, just message me and I will be happy to take the worry out of the process.

Over the years I have trained many many people, just like you, to start their own business. I love getting to you know you as you start this journey. Honestly it makes me happy to help you because of the joy my own ceramic handprint business has brought me over the years.

Want to take a little journey with me? Check out this video I made a few years ago talking about my handprint business. It has been a beautiful ride.

I have spent 15 years working for myself. I have learned a few things along the way.

One of the biggest things I have learned in my entreprenuer life, is to just jump into what you are wanting to create. You have to just START, everything else will fall into place.

You and I have crossed paths for a reason and I would love to find out why.

Thank you for stopping by my blog. Stick around. Read a bit. Email me with any questions you may have. If you have been planning to start your own ceramic handprint business, I am sure you have questions. My email...it is kinda long but should be easy to remember. ;)

[email protected]

I hope you are getting into the grove of 2015! I still can't believe we are starting another year. Each year goes faster than the last. Time to make all your dreams come true.

Sending you love and warmth (if you are in a cold climate like me),

My Ceramic Hand & Foot Business began 14 years ago this week.

It was exactly 14 years ago, this week, that I started my own Ceramic Hand & Foot Impressions business. I was very inspired to get my business up and running and FAST. I wanted to be ready for the holidays, you know these keepsakes are perfect for gifts. ;)

I worked my buns off.  I practiced a lot. I made impressions of my kids and all my friends kids and anyone who would let me take an impression of them. I was bound and determined to get my business going.

I signed up for my first Holiday show in November of 2000. It was only 6 weeks after I officially started practicing.

I started before I was ready.

I remember signing up for the Holiday event before I had even done too many impressions. But I was so excited and I knew I could do it.

I am a person who needs a deadline and I knew if I committed to something........I would have to show up!

Did I have the perfect booth, art work, and branding? No

Was I completely confident in my abilities? No

Was I scared out of my mind?!!! YES

I did it anyway. I showed up and officially launched my business. It felt so good. I got my first, real, PAYING customers. I was so happy!

It felt so good. I was so proud of myself and my little Hand & Footprint business. It was the start of one of the best decisions of my life.

One of my first ad banners/posters. This was my little guy when he was about a year old. He was 15 months when I started my business.

If you are trying to decide if this business is right for you, email me, ask me all the questions you want. I will be happy to talk with you on the phone too..

Either way, you have arrived at my site for a reason and I am pretty sure you are looking for that special business, an answer to your prayers, searching for that perfect stay at home business. Well, you found it. :)

I love what I do and I know I can help you. Even if you are feeling scared, overwhelmed and just not sure, reach out to me and let me help you get started.

Here is to you and all of your new adventures!
